Honeycomb Sweater

My sister and brother in law and their son love rabbits so I knit him a sweater made out of rabbits. It was knit from Patons Bamboo Angora yarn on a size too small needles. I started knitting it in the back of their van on our road trip up to Thief River Falls for a family wedding. I started out on interchangeable circular needles and my connection wasn't the greatest and so the work kept snagging. We stopped at a thrift shop on the way to get out and walk around and give Erik a break and I was able to find a pair of straight needles that were slightly too small AND not warped! It seems any pair of needles you find at a thrift shop or antique store are always bent or warped! This pattern is found in Greetings From Knit Cafe and the finished sweater can be worn forwards or backwards.

Here is the little guy wearing it for church today. It looked better backwards because it is quite snug and will only fit him for about ten more minutes. When worn frontwards, the slot made it look quite gappy so we opted for the 'straight jacket' look.

Pumpkin Socks

Happy Halloween everybody! These were knit for ME from Patons Kroy Sock Yarn and kept my feet very warm. We got together this weekend for family fun and Trick or Treating. Hopefully this will be the last holiday without my brother. We were all able to talk to him on Skype and he'll hopefully be home in a few weeks. We enjoyed wonderful sunny and not too cool weather for our hometown's festivities.

Finnish Slippers

I swear I take more pictures of my feet! I have been knitting lately like it's going out of style because I'm starting on a new floor this week and will be very busy for a while. I'm working on a baby sweater and a pair of socks for myself and a few other things here and there...and I just had to make these when I saw the pattern in the latest issue of KnitSimple! The pattern called for a bulky yarn so I used my yarn from this year's (Peru) trip to the Vihrea Vyyhti Oy shop and I edged them with the remainder of the same yarn from last year's (Dschungel) trip. I had to fool around a little with the pattern because the yarn was not quite thick enough. As much as I love these, I feel just a little bad that I'm going to be stepping on that beautiful yarn! I am thinking about painting the bottoms with some puffy shirt paint to make them grippy, but also to prevent them from wearing out.

Babushka Bag

This is a Swing Bag I made for my niece's birthday. Between my mother and me, we had two different prints to make it reversible. I have another one made out of my Lush scarf but I have yet to sew in the lining and I just haven't had the strength. It is sitting on the arm of my couch and eventually I'm sure I'll get tired of looking at it! I really like this pattern!
